Jukka Pahta has been appointed Koskisen Group’s Managing Director as of 1 March 2017. He has served as the interim managing director since last October.
Pahta, M.Sc. (Econ. & Bus. Adm.)/MBA, has extensive experience in management positions in the forest industry and related sectors. He joined Koskisen from the consulting firm Pöyry, where he was Executive Vice President, CFO, prior to which he held a number of management and expert positions in the forest industry.
“Pahta brings to the company new kind of expertise and experience, which is much-needed by the company at its current development stage. Pahta’s track record as interim managing director convinced the Board of Directors that he would be a suitable choice to head the developing family business,” says Markku Pohjola, Chairman of the Board of Koskisen Group’s parent company Koskitukki.
Koskisen Group’s business has grown steadily over the past few years. The positive development is expected to continue as the global economy gradually recovers and the outlook of the forest industry improves further.
“The past few months as Koskisen’s interim managing director have provided me with a unique opportunity to get to know the company’s operations and employees. This has been a positive experience and the opportunities are many,” says Pahta and adds:
“Improving profitability and ensuring growth are now at the center of our focus. I look forward to taking on the challenge and I’m convinced that we will succeed together.”
Koskisen Group is a Finnish family business with more than 1,000 employees, operating in the wood products industry. The company’s net sales in 2016 were more than EUR 264 million, of which exports accounted for 54%. Koskisen employees have shared a passion for wood for more than 100 years.
